This Austin developer says multifamily projects are key to surviving the current real estate cycle

Oct. 16, 2019 – This past August, U.S. housing starts – or new home construction – rose to the highest level since June of 2007. This increase is driven by rising wages, lower mortgage rates and a shortage of existing homes. In September, buyer confidence hit a yearly high, according to the National Association of Home Builders. Because low mortgage rates are typically associated with a struggling economy, today’s low mortgage rates coupled with a relatively healthy economy present a unique opportunity for builders. According to data from the Mortgage Bankers Association, mortgage applications are increasing weekly to reflect the current outlook.
